Lewis and Clark Project
- research, analysis, creativity, interpretation of directions, application of instructions.
Civil War Unit or Some Role Playing

From Reading:

Biography - teaching of biography as a genre.
- great way to look at perspective
- great way to look at history (what could we bring into this unit or how can we connect the unit)
  - add a biography into the SS unit?
  - have students create journals in a character (Fakebook Pages)
  - have students research/become/journal as an historical figure
Teacher's Choice vs. Whole Grade novels?
- Do we want to start with a whole grade novel(s)?
  - Mention of historical fiction to start the year.

From Language Arts:

Grammar - need to build this into the schedule on a regular basis.
- Entire grade at the same time.
- Ability to team teach and introduce lessons
  - all would get the same skills at the same time
  - teachers would be more aware of what to emphasize
  - more unified teaching method
Blogging -
- Bill will need help with this (novice - still skeptical for blogging myself).
  - yes, I do see the possibilities as a teacher, but need to understand it better.
Spelling -
- Entire grade at the same time.
- Ability to team teach and introduce lessons - all students would be on the same lesson during the same week.
